10 Quotes From Jim Rohn That Changed My Life

I can honestly say that the words of Jim Rohn have helped change my life. Never before have I been introduced to someone before or since, who so clearly articulates how to achieve success in your life. His words have helped not only to inspire me, but also to correct some of my previous errors in thinking, which have since allowed me to more effectively pursue my goals and find success in my profession as an online entrepreneur.

Here are 10 quotes from Jim Rohn that have helped shape my business success:

1. "Success is not to be pursued; it is to be attracted by the person you become."

2. "If you live well, you will earn well...so don't miss the nourishment of all the things around you that can help you live a good life."

3. "We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret."

4. "Set a goal to become a millionaire, for what it will make of you to achieve it. Then, once you get the million dollars you can just give it away, because what's really valuable is not what you got, but what you became."

5. "Make sure that the greatest pull on you is the pull of the future. Not the pull of the past that keeps pulling you back, and not the pull of gravity - like the present - that keeps you stuck where you are."

6. "Failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day. Success on the other hand, is just doing ordinary things extraordinarily well."

7. "Do what you have to as quickly as you can, so you can do what you want to for as long as you can." (regarding intelligent allocation of resources)

8. "Learn how to be happy with what you have while you pursue all that you want."

9. "Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment."

10. "Beware what you become in pursuit of what you want."

Let these quotes from Jim Rohn guide you on your path to success.

Success Online Starts From Within

To succeed online, there are many skills that you need to possess. Some are the so-called hard skills - like being tech savvy on the computer, and some are the soft skills like mindset training. Often times, people seem to think you can get by having one and not the other, but I don't subscribe to that argument. I think you need to possess a combination of the two. Without good mindset training, I don't think you can have the internal fortitude to drive through the hard times that all internet marketers face now and then. You need that optimistic, success-minded approach that mindset training teaches. Alternatively, if you can't figure out the hard skills like how to use your email account, then I don't think the mindset skills alone are going to save you either. The fact is, you need them both.

That said, I believe that success must first come from within. I know that sounds cliché, but the life of an entrepreneur is filled with challenges, which can be difficult to overcome if you lack the right philosophy. To succeed online, I think the first thing you need to understand is that it's not about “getting” but rather about “giving.” Your philosophy as an internet marketer should be to consciously be adding value in whatever you do. Be generous in the giving of your knowledge, so that others will see you as a person of resource. If you do this, you will always have a steady stream of new prospects. Too many people have a “me first” attitude, whereby they are constantly selling their product or business upfront. This is the caveman way of doing business online. Top-tier marketers know that success results from being seen as a valuable resource by the marketplace, which is done by embracing a solid personal philosophy, constant self-education and generosity in the sharing of information.

My advice to someone just starting out as an internet marketer is to concentrate 100% on adding value for your prospects. If you focus on your financial number like, “I gotta earn 10 grand by April 1st or this year's a bust”, then you're not going about it right. Forget about a financial number, and instead make a commitment to become more knowledgeable, and then share your knowledge with your prospects. I think if you have the mindset of adding value and developing your own personal disciplines, then financial success will come to you. Finally, I will end by saying that although I think I do have a strong personal philosophy and mindset, there are definitely days where I can feel negative, and that's when I remember that we have to be thankful for what we already have. That's the key, if you're thankful for what you already have, then you can absorb the bumps along the way.

Building Your Business From Anywhere!

Why struggle to the top in someone else's business when you can start at the top in your own!?

If this thought has crossed your mind, then we have something in common! This was the idea that prompted me to break away from my career path in Corporate America and become an entrepreneur. To this day, it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.I love to travel, and I've spent over two years of my life living abroad in Japan, Thailand, France and Jamaica. I'm living the way most people trapped in corporate jobs never will. WITH FREEDOM! The majority of individuals struggle in their jobs for decades just in hopes of having the freedom that today's entrepreneur does.

It's funny because I once asked a friend (who at the time was working stressful 80 hour weeks at an investment bank) what he would do if he ever made the millions of dollars that he was working so hard to acquire. Without hesitation he said, "Take a long trip to Thailand." Imagine that! So many people, just like my friend, spend their entire lives working for someone else, just to have the chance to go where they want when they retire! As an entrepreneur, I am already living that existence!! Of course, I work very hard at what I do and take my work very seriously, but I have the same freedom of mobility that a retiree does...and maybe even more! To go where I want whenever I want is a great feeling that I wish more people could experience.
